MedCruise was present at the inaugural event, actively supporting the positive initiative of its member port- another step towards sustainable growth of port activities in the Mediterannean and its adjoint seas.

The official presentation of the Livorno Port Centre was held on 3rd November 2015, Fortezza Vecchia, Livorno, Italy. Livorno Port Authority, AIVP, Assoporti and Livorno Port Center welcomed and guided all guests to the technologically innovative Livorno Port Center that opened its door.

The event was prefaced by Mr Guiliano Gallanti (Commissioner of the Port Authority of Livorno, Italy). Esteemed speakers participated at the Think Tank Workshop: Philippe Matthis, (AIVP President), Eamonn o’ Reilly (Port of Dublin, Ireland), Henk De Bruijn (Port of Rotterdam, The Netherlands) and Gabriele Gargiulo (Port Authority of Livorno, Italy) presenting different port centers case studies.

The workshop followed by a most intersting round table. Discussants on the Port-City Development Opportunities round table were Umberto Masucci, (International Propellers Club, Naples), Giuliano Gallanti, (Port Authority of Livorno, Italy), Philippe Matthis, (AIVP), Filippo Nogarin (Mayor of Livorno, President of the ANCI Commission “Port cities”, Italy) and Philippe Demoulin (Port Center Lillo, Antwerp, Belgium).

The closing speech and the first cultural meeting promoted by the Livorno Port Center was given by Patrick Verhoeven, ECSA Secretary General. Patrick presented his PhD ‘Economic Assessment of Management Reform in European Seaports’. His presentation commented and followed by an vibe discussion with the participation of Mr Nereo Paolo Morucci (Contship Italia) and Mr Fransesco Messineo (Marina di Carrara). Moderator of the panel was Mr Giulliano Galanti (Port of Livorno).
