The Port of Genoa fills a strategic geographical position in the Mediterranean basin, representing a natural gateway of connection between Europe and the rest of the world and an essential crossroad for traffic. Stazioni Marittime S.p.A.has been operating Genoa’s five passenger terminals, featuring  a total of 290,000sq mtr  building and management of the passenger port of Genoa and its traffic. The area, received in concession from the state through the Genoa Port Authority, covers a surface of 290,000 square metres and includes 12 berths distributed on Ponte Caracciolo, Ponte Assereto, Ponte Colombo, Ponte Andrea Doria and Ponte dei Mille. The berths, depending on their technical features, may be used by both ferries and cruise ships. Located in North West Italy, near the airports of Genoa (32km), Nice-Cote d’Azur (159km) and Milan (217km), port of Savonais homeport of Costa Crociere. During 2018, around 842,000 cruise passengers registered in Savona. Costa Crociere manages directly the two cruise terminals inside the port of Savona. Palacrociere Terminal West is the passenger terminal realised in partnership with the Port Authority in 2003 and Palacrociere Terminal East is a new facility launched in November 2014, financed entirely by Costa Crociere. The Palacrociere is specifically conceived to offer the highest comforts to passengers  with efficient and safe operations  The two dedicated quays (450mtr and 325mtr) allow the simultaneous docking of three cruise vessels, with up to 12,000 passengers flowing through the terminal during the same day. The sixteenthcentury fortress (Priamar) the Medieval monuments, the cathedral and Sistine Chapel, 4km of beaches and the enchanting Italian Riviera are only some of the tourist attractions that people cruising Savona can visit.
