
Souda Port, Chania Crete, considered as an established cruise port in SE Mediterranean Sea and remains in the top preferences of the major and luxurious cruise lines. Furthermore, Souda Port is the cruise gateway to Chania destination, as well as for the Western Crete covering well-known resort areas such as Apokoronas and Rethymnon and small picturesque isolated seaside villages and coves such as Kissamos, Palaiochora, Elafonisi, Sfakia, etc.
Last year (2024) the Souda port accommodate 131 calls of cruiseships with 279.754 passengers and for current year we expect more than 200 cruise calls.
Souda Port according to the Master Plan execution for the port infrastructure update, plans to build a new 2000 sqm self-efficient and sustainable terminal as part as its port development on the land zone of Adrias Pier. Also, for this Pier there is also plans to extent for more 160 mt . The new terminal which is designed to serve both cruise and coastal liners’ calls, will provide well-designed services to all passengers with an improved guest experience. The project features retail and F&B stations, new coach and car parking facilities which will significantly improve the port’s infrastructure.
Regarding shore excursions, Chania can offer to the passengers all possibilities and fulfill all requests. Excursions to Museums (Archeological Museum and Maritime Museum), Archaeological sites (Ancient hellenic city of Aptera), Monasteries (Monastery of Ag. Triada), Natura – Botanical Parks, Traditional Cretan villages or even a city tour and a guided walk through the narrow streets of the Old Harbour.
