ArtLink

Main information

Tal Danai established ArtLink in 1996 to revolutionize the global art market. He gained international recognition for launching the groundbreaking ArtLink@Sotheby’s International Young Art Program in 1997, which CNN hailed as “the most exciting development in the art market in decades.” The program transformed the landscape for emerging art, shifting global transactions of young art from 0% in 1996 to 89% by 2020.

In 2002, Danai expanded ArtLink’s scope to serve the hospitality sector, delivering curated, narrative-based art collections to over 200 luxury hotel and cruise ship projects across 40 countries. Today, ArtLink is the most prominent global art consultancy, curating and providing large-scale impactful, experiential art collections and advising governments, municipalities, corporations and hotel brands on the development and implementation of cultural strategies and engaging narratives.

A thought leader at the intersection of art, design, and experience, Danai regularly speaks at major industry events. He serves as the Art & Design Ambassador for Seatrade Global, Minister of the board of the acclaimed Dorian Wind Quartet, an Advisory Board Member for Marine Interiors at SMM Hamburg, and is the creator of SEATRADE CRUISE TALKS – a web series spotlighting visionary voices in tourism and design.

Holding degrees in fine art, business, and law, Danai brings a multidisciplinary perspective to his work, further shaped by his lifelong practice as a Kyokushin Karate Dan III Sensei, his almost daily sculling routine and his Wood Badge rank with the Global Scouts Association.

History

ArtLink was founded in 1996 to launch a global market segment for young and emerging artists. Its strategic partnership with Sotheby’s in 1997 led to the development of the largest segment in the global art market – young and emerging – that today hosts 90% of all global art transactions. In 2002, ArtLink ventured on another entrepreneurial journey, introducing to the hospitality industry a new methodology to curate art collections for hotels; a methodology promoting cultural sustainability and regeneration, concentrating on bringing the voices of the cultures surrounding the hotels inside, contributing to guest experience and emotional wellbeing.
