Medov, either directly or through its holding IL Investimenti S.r.l., is part of an extensive corporate group providing a wide range of shipping services. Medov Logistics focuses on logistics and has offices in Genova, Civitavecchia, Leghorn, and Venice, with subsidiaries in Miami, Singapore, and Hamburg. Med Supplies offers ship chandling services, providing a variety of food, beverage, personal care, and mass-consumption products. Logtainer specializes in intermodal transport, operating across ports and internal destinations in Italy. Derrick manages inland container terminals near Genoa, Leghorn, and Milan. SECH and VTE are significant container terminals in the Port of Genoa, while Vecon operates one of the container terminals in the Port of Venice. TDT serves as the main container terminal.

History

Medov’s history began over 70 years ago. It was 1947 when the shipping agency started the activity in Genoa with basic interest in the cruise business. Great commitment through time allowed Medov to gain ever growing experience and expertise, but it was thanks to the acquisition in 2004 by the Genoese Shenone family – operating in the shipping industry for generations – that Medov was able to develop a rapid diversification which led to the expansion of its activities into nearly all shipping areas, either directly or through controlled companies. The same expansion has happened from a geographical point of view, by creating a leading office network also in France.

Medov controls all operating activities from Genoa’s headquarter and through offices in Portofino, Leghorn, Civitavecchia, Naples, Gioia Tauro, Ravenna, Trieste and Venice, offering in all these major and strategic Italian ports a uniform, high standard level of efficiency. Furthermore, a wide network of sub-agencies has been created to cover all other ports. This network has recently expanded to include French ports and Monaco, where Medov operates through offices in Marseille, Nice and Monte Carlo. The remaining part of the “Exagon coasts”, both of the Mediterranean and of the Atlantic, are covered by sub-agencies.
