Ocean Ecostructures

Main information

Ocean Ecostructures develops solutions to renaturalise marine infrastructure, including ports, oil platforms, offshore wind farms and subsea cables, transforming them into drivers of ocean regeneration. Through a strongly technology-driven approach, the company turns environmental benefits into corporate value for its clients, aligning economic growth with environmental sustainability.

History

Founded in Barcelona in 2021, Ocean Ecostructures was created to make marine regeneration scalable and compatible with the growth of coastal and offshore infrastructure. The company evolved from early Mediterranean pilot projects into an integrated platform combining regenerative technology, ROV/AI monitoring and iOceans digital reporting. By 2026, it had installed more than 500 units and developed projects for ports, marinas, offshore wind, oil and gas, and subsea cable infrastructure, while expanding across Europe, the GCC and the United States.

Philosophy

We believe marine infrastructure can be part of the solution: transforming human activity at sea into an opportunity to regenerate the ocean. Economic activity and marine biodiversity do not have to be incompatible. Ports, marinas and other marine infrastructure can move beyond being merely a source of environmental impact and become spaces capable of generating a positive, measurable and lasting impact on marine ecosystems. This philosophy can be articulated around four principles: ● From grey to blue: transforming artificial marine infrastructure into new habitats for marine life. ● Regenerate, not only mitigate: going beyond reducing environmental impact to actively restoring biodiversity.
