SeaCras is a tech company that provides marine and coastal intelligence through high-resolution satellite imagery, AI and scientific analysis—completely remotely and without hardware installation or maintenance.
We help cruise ports, destinations and maritime stakeholders monitor coastal environment, detect MARPOL-related pollution, identify and predict threats, make informed decisions and reduce risk of fines, reputational losses and disruptions to port operations.
Our Coastal Intelligence system is currently deployed at more than 20 ports across four continents, along with multiple regional governments, territorial waters, and marine protected areas. SeaCras is a portfolio company of EU bodies DG MARE and DG DEFIS.
One of our sustainability demonstration solutions for guests and local community, SeaCras App, deployed with Zadar Cruise Port, was nominated for the 2024 Seatrade Cruise Awards and the 2025 World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards.
SeaCras is a Croatian marine and maritime intelligence company that uses state-of-the-art, custom-made AI models to analyze high-resolution satellite data, monitor and detect pollution incidents, and predict future scenarios of sea conditions in the port area.
This intelligence is used by both private- and public-sector clients, including ports, port authorities, maritime operators, coastal destinations, and other stakeholders from the blue economy.
DECISION READY INTELLIGENCE
By analyzing comparable data over time, SeaCras helps ports identify long-term trends, address seasonality, and helps to plan preventive and recovery measures.
SeaCras provides evidence that helps determine the source and extent of pollution, respond to false or unsupported claims, document external pollution entering the port area and demonstrate compliance with MARPOL requirements, EU directives and local regulations. Ports can use these data for ESG reporting, environmental action plans, audits, investment decisions, and communication with cruise lines and other stakeholders.
Monitoring extends beyond port boundaries to identify external pollution that may move into the port area, supporting early warning and preparation for risks originating elsewhere.
For cruise ports, this means faster and better-informed incident response, risk-assessment, and reducing risk of fines, reputational losses and disruptions to port operations.
TECHNOLOGY
Our Coastal Intelligence system can monitor water quality, detect biological events and different forms of pollution, including MARPOL-related pollution, monitor noise pollution and sediment dispersion caused by ship propellers, detect vessels, and track environmental and maritime changes over time.
Clients can choose from services including a 24/7 operations center, an early warning system, sustainability actions demonstration, and compliance reporting. They can opt for periodic analysis for a defined area and timeframe or continuous monitoring as an ongoing operational service.
SeaCras delivers technical reports with data records, documented methodology, and explanations of detected events and risks. Clients can access the intelligence through software interfaces and customized visualizations or integrate it into existing port systems, databases, and dashboards through an API. All services are delivered remotely, without on-site hardware installation, which means no hidden or additional costs.
SUSTAINABILITY DEMONSTRATION TOOL
The SeaCras App is a solution from our portfolio that enables ports to showcase their sustainability efforts through transparent data, improve visitor engagement, and strengthen trust in the destination. Through a simple QR code and interactive map, ports can share clear, regularly updated information about local sea quality with passengers, cruise lines, and local communities.
Already deployed at Zadar Cruise Port, the App demonstrates how environmental monitoring can become an accessible part of the passenger experience and communication with the local community.
SeaCras currently operates across four continents, monitoring 1,600 square kilometres of marine and coastal waters, including 22 port areas.
