A Grand Debut in Corsica!

Saturday, July 5, Corsica Ports had the privilege of welcoming the maiden call of Luminara, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection ‘s newest jewel, as she gracefully anchored in L’Île-Rousse, on her inaugural voyage from Monte Carlo to Rome.

Built at Les Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Saint Nazaire, Luminara is designed with a strong focus on sustainability and environmental friendliness. The yacht uses advanced technologies to minimize its ecological footprint. Some of the eco-friendly features include:

Energy-efficient engines that reduce fuel consumption and emissions (LNG dual-fuel system).

Waste management systems that process wastewater and waste in an environmentally friendly manner.

Use of sustainable materials in the construction and interior of the yacht.

Energy-efficient lighting and other electrical systems to minimize energy consumption

On board Luminara, every space whispers elegance with an overall vibe of light and luxury given Chapi Chapo Design, a luxury interior design firm based in Toronto, which took care of every detail.

We especially enjoyed that original artwork by 20th century masters like Miró, Hockney, Matisse, Wharol or Calder, are seamlessly integrated into the ship’s contemporary interiors.

We were thrilled to discover the extraordinary piece of art of Alfhild Külper, a Swedish artist, who weaved for the stair hall, a seven-story fiber sculpture resembling a constellation of islands, a project that took her 1000 hours.

Last but not least, we loved to learn that much of the furniture, from the numerous swivel chairs to the indoor and outdoor sectionals, was sourced on a buying spree at last year’s Milan Design Week from Salone super brands like Molteni, Minotti, Poltrona Frau and Roche Bobois.

As Corsica welcomed her with sunlit shores and warm hospitality, it’s clear: this is not just a voyage but a new era in luxury travel.
