ADELTE has been awarded by the Société de Gestion du Port de Tangier Ville (SGPTV) the contract for the design, manufacture, and installation of a new passenger boarding system for the cruise terminal at the iconic Port of Tanger Ville, with delivery scheduled for 2027.
Situated in the heart of Tangier’s bay and directly connected to the historic Medina, the port offers cruise passengers one of the most unique arrival experiences in the Mediterranean region, allowing visitors to step from ship to city center within minutes. The new boarding system has been conceived to further enhance passenger comfort, operational efficiency, and the overall guest experience at the terminal.
The solution will be based on ADELTE’s ARGOS model, a self-propelled telescopic ship-to-shore gangway operating on rails and incorporating two long tunnel sections extending from the cruise ship access door down to quay level. Equipped with advanced sensor technology and electromechanical actuators, the system is capable of actively compensating for vessel movements, ensuring safe, smooth, and comfortable passenger embarkation and disembarkation under varying operational conditions.
This latest award further strengthens ADELTE’s long-standing presence in Morocco’s port infrastructure sector. Upon completion of the Tangier Ville project, ADELTE will have delivered a total of 15 passenger boarding systems since 2002 across the ports of Tanger Ville, Tanger Med, Nador, and Casablanca, reflecting the company’s continued commitment to supporting the development and modernization of the country’s maritime passenger facilities.
