An Overview on Alexandria:

It was Alexandria of Egypt that intellectually dominated the ancient world. It was here that humans first realized the world wasn’t flat, invented geometry, built the steam engine, created latitude and longitude, and drew the first accurate maps of the world.

Alexandria has a very rich history of ancient civilization, remaining the capital of Roman, and Byzantine Egypt for almost 1,000 years. It was also best known for the Lighthouse of Alexandria (Pharos), one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and its Great Library (the largest in the ancient world). In late 1990s and beginnings of 2000s Alexandria decided to regain its charm and significance by reviving its old library  with the very modernized “Bibliotheca Alexandrina” comprising a repository for rare manuscripts, a conference center, and a research institute.

Also the Port of Alexandria has witnessed many renovations in its infrastructure including the opening of a new Cruise terminal for passengers’ ships quay.
