The Costa neoRiviera passenger ship belonging to Costa CROCIERE SpA Genoa, Italy arrived at Constanta Port Passenger Terminal, Romania on 24 April 2017, coming from Burgas Port, Bulgaria, with a total number of 1134 passengers and 534 crew members. Almost half of the passengers (554 persons) enjoyed their option for organized trips to the city of Tulcea, the ancient fortified city of Histria and its Museum, as well as Constanta as the stop city-port.

Thus, in Tulcea tourists were offered a unique opportunity – to travel on board of a ship that could enter one of the navigable channels within the Danube River Delta, where they could admire wild birds (pelicans, herons, egrets, Danube falcons, swans, cormorants), the Northern beaches and most of all, the mirific beauty of the landscape awakening on spring’s arrival.

At Histria, the famous Greek city and former port built in 6th century, tourists visited the Archaeological Museum housing one of the most impressive collections of altars, bas-reliefs, dating both from the Greek and Roman antiquity. Histria fortified-city, built in the year 657 AD gave the Costa neoRiviera passengers a glimpse of a very impressive Greek citadel with well preserved defense walls, towers, Christian basilicas dating as back as the 6th century AD, with highly remarckable vestiges of several temples: the Temple of Aphrodite, the Temple of Zeus, the Forum, the Market, paved streets, sewer pipes, houses, all of the speaking of a florishing cultural and commercial past.

Tourists that chose to visit the city of Constantza, made a tour of the city and Mamaia resort, visited the Archaelogical Museum followed bythe pleasure of tasting traditional Romanian dishes well-assorted with wines from famous local vineyards.
