The Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, represented by Luz Marina Espiau Moreno, Head of Commercial and Business Development, took part in the II Canary Islands Tourism Convention held at the Fuerteventura Auditorium.

The convention focused on the new “Canary Islands Destination Strategy 2025–2027”, emphasizing sustainability, digitalization, civic participation, and connectivity—key pillars that align closely with the strategic direction of the Port Authority.

Espiau highlighted the role of ports in delivering smart, sustainable, and visitor-centered experiences. “Ports are more than infrastructure; they are dynamic entry points to meaningful tourism. Our work in digitalization and quality management makes us strategic partners in transforming the Canary Islands’ tourism model,” she noted.

The event also emphasized cross-sector collaboration between tourism, culture, and sports an approach  Luz Marina supports through her involvement in networks such as MedCruise and Cruises Atlantic Islands, which promote sustainable and joint destination marketing across island ports.

The Port Authority’s participation in the convention underscores its leadership in applying innovative strategies that drive both port competitiveness and the international positioning of the Canary Islands as a leading tourism destination.
