MedCruise as an Ecosystem of Collaboration and Shared Destination Knowledge

MedCruise has established itself as a collaborative ecosystem that connects ports, destinations and professionals through trust, shared knowledge and practical cooperation. Beyond its associative role, MedCruise enables direct interaction between its members, fostering learning and alignment across different port realities within the cruise industry.

Professional and technical visits between members of the Board of Directors and port teams are a clear expression of this collaborative model. Visits such as those carried out between Luz Marina, Board Member of MedCruise and linked to the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and Cristina De Gregori, also a Member of the MedCruise Board of Directors and representative of the Port of Genoa, illustrate how shared leadership within the association translates into collaboration on the ground.

The visit to the Port of Genoa provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on port governance models, port–city integration and destination positioning within the Mediterranean cruise market. These exchanges between Board members reinforce a common strategic vision and strengthen MedCruise’s internal coherence as a network.

Similarly, visits to the Port of Livorno with Francesca Morucci and Matteo Donati, members of MedCruise, highlighted the value of peer-to-peer dialogue among ports. Discussions focused on destination management, passenger experience and the integration of port activity with the surrounding territory, offering a practical and operational perspective aimed at continuous improvement.

These visits were further enriched by the participation of The Tourism Lab, represented by Andrea Baigorria, contributing a complementary viewpoint from destination strategy, tourism planning and the connection between ports, cities and visitor experience.

Together, these experiences reflect the true nature of the MedCruise ecosystem. Knowledge is not shared in abstract terms, but through direct interaction, technical visits and professional dialogue among peers facing similar challenges in different contexts. This diversity of perspectives becomes a collective strength.

In an increasingly complex environment for the cruise industry, MedCruise reinforces its role as a facilitator of meaningful professional relationships, demonstrating that structured collaboration based on shared knowledge and trust represents a sustainable competitive advantage for its members.
