MedCruise, the Association of Mediterranean Cruise Ports, is represented at World Travel Market (WTM) London 2026 through Luz Marina Espiau Moreno, Member of the MedCruise Board of Directors responsible for Digitalisation and Innovation and Head of Commercial and Business Development at the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
The event, taking place at ExCeL London from 3 to 5 November, provides an opportunity to strengthen connections between cruise ports, tourism destinations and international industry partners, reinforcing the importance of collaboration within the MedCruise network.
Representing both MedCruise and Tenerife Ports, Luz Marina is taking part in industry networking activities alongside tourism representatives from the Canary Islands, highlighting the close cooperation between port authorities and destination management organisations in developing attractive and sustainable cruise destinations.
The event also brings together fellow MedCruise members, including Gibraltar and City Sightseeing Worldwide, creating opportunities to exchange perspectives, strengthen existing relationships and explore new areas of cooperation. These connections highlight the value of bringing together cruise ports, destinations and tourism service providers to develop better visitor experiences and strengthen the links between cruise tourism and local communities.
Among the industry professionals attending is Andrea Baigorria, CEO of The Tourism Lab, a media and communications partner connected to the cruise industry, whose participation contributes to the exchange of ideas and greater visibility for cruise ports and destinations.
The programme also includes meetings with representatives of Carnival UK, providing an opportunity to strengthen dialogue with cruise lines, exchange perspectives on destination development and operational needs, and explore further opportunities for cooperation between ports and the cruise industry.
Luz Marina is also attending expert panels and industry discussions focused on emerging tourism trends for 2027, gaining insights into evolving traveller expectations, digital transformation and new approaches to destination management. These sessions offer valuable perspectives on how cruise ports and tourism authorities can work together to enhance visitor experiences and respond to the changing needs of the tourism sector.
For MedCruise, participation in major international tourism events such as WTM extends the Association’s presence beyond dedicated cruise industry exhibitions. It creates opportunities for members to engage directly with tourism authorities, destination representatives and other stakeholders involved in the development of cruise tourism.
The presence of MedCruise Board Members alongside fellow members and industry collaborators reinforces the Association’s approach to international cooperation, knowledge sharing and stronger connections between ports and the destinations they serve.
Through its participation at WTM London 2026, MedCruise continues to support the international visibility of its members and encourage closer collaboration across the Mediterranean and its adjoining seas, including the Atlantic region.
