On Sunday, July 10th, the Port of Olbia became the first Italian port to welcome Seven Seas Explorer in her 14-day inaugural voyage.

The 223 mt vessel forms one of the most luxurious cruise ships and was delivered to Regent Seven Seas Cruises by Ficantieri in June 2016.

Olbia forms the ideal cruise destination both for the cruise company and the guest. Located only 20 minutes by car from Porto Cervo, Olbia is considered one of the “coolest” and most luxurious destinations in the West Med. Costa Smeralda, La Maddalena, the numerous archaeological areas, as well as Vermentino vineyards form excellent shorex options for cruise passengers.

Mr. Frank del Rio, President of Norwegian Cruise Line Holding, was among the special guests that visited Costa Smeralda on board Seven Seas Explorer.

Pietro Preziosi, North Sardinia Port Authority Special Commissioner, noted “Seven Seas Explorer inaugural call and the visit of Mr. Del Rio have been a great pleasure not only for Olbia port, but also for the entire region, which has excellent port services to offer, as well as unique attractions for its visitors”.

Following the 2015 record of 149 cruise calls, Olbia, Golfo Aranci and Porto Torres are looking forward to welcoming in total another 135 calls in 2016.

Apart from Seven Seas Explorer, on July 10th Olbia had also the pleasure to welcome Costa Neoromantica and Silver Cloud.
