Port Argentario is celebrating a major milestone in its cruise development journey, marking ten years of steady growth and welcoming a record 82 cruise calls during the 2026 season.
Over the past decade, the Tuscan destination has evolved from hosting just five cruise calls in a single season to becoming an increasingly sought-after port of call for some of the world’s most prestigious cruise brands. Today, cruise lines including Silversea, Ponant, Scenic, Emerald Cruises, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, Explora Journeys, Oceania Cruises, SeaDream Yacht Club, CroisiEurope and Grand Circle have all included Port Argentario in their itineraries.
This growth reflects the port’s long-term commitment to promoting the destination, strengthening relationships with cruise operators and developing a high-quality cruise offering that showcases the unique appeal of the Argentario region.
Welcoming the world’s largest sailing cruise ship
One of the highlights of the season came on 30 July with the arrival of Orient Express Corinthian, recognised as the world’s largest sailing cruise ship.
Sailing under the French flag and accommodating just 108 guests, the luxury vessel made a memorable call at Port Argentario, where local representatives welcomed the ship’s captain, crew and passengers during the traditional plaque exchange ceremony. The port also served as an embarkation and disembarkation point for a number of guests, further underlining its growing role within the luxury cruise sector.
Looking ahead
The momentum continues with another significant call scheduled for early August, when Four Seasons I, the new ultra-luxury yacht from Four Seasons Yachts, is expected to arrive in Porto Ercole.
While celebrating the achievements of the past decade, Port Argentario continues to invest in the future by enhancing its facilities and services.
