On June 25th, 2014, the port of Lisbon welcomed the 100th call of the Independence of the Seas, the cruise ship with greater passenger capacity that calls Lisbon.

Independence of the Seas called Lisbon for the 1st time on May 14th, 2008, in her maiden voyage and in six years brought to Lisbon 392,207 passengers, the highest number of passengers in such a short period. In April 19th, 2011, Independence of the Seas called Lisbon carrying onboard 4,363 guests, the highest number of passengers arriving in Lisbon on board a ship.

To celebrate the 100th call of the Independence of the Seas at Lisbon, the Port of Lisbon Authority, presented the captain with the commemorative plaque.
