MedCruise actively participated at the “5th Forum on Integrated Green Life-Cycle Management of Waste Oils and Residues-ELINA” which was organised within the project LIFE 10/ENV/GR/ 000606 ELINA project at the hall of Technical Chamber of Greece on Friday 25th April.

The forum focused on sea and coastal pollution and examined environmental management of specific waste stream all technical issues that will play decisive role to the legislation and environmental sound practices on waste management.

On behalf of MedCruise Mrs. Aimilia Papachristou presented the existing waste reception facilities in MedCruise Ports based on data collected as part of the participation of MedCruise Association at the Sustainable Cruise project while she pointed out the importance of Environmental Management for the ports.

The forum was attended by more than 40 stakeholders among them representatives from Hellenic Ministry of Environment Energy and Climate Change and Ministry of Shipping and Aegean Sea Universities Hellenic Environmental Company and Port Authorities.

The ELINA Project aims at addressing and implementing EU and Greek legislation through the integrated management of waste oils and by setting up collection points improving collection techniques collection and transport practices awareness raising to stakeholders and social partners and the completing the necessary environmental infrastructure for closed-loop life-cycle management of waste oils.
