Intercruises strengthens its representation within key maritime industry bodies

The appointment recognises Raquel López’s leadership in port operations

Intercruises Shoreside & Port Services is pleased to announce the appointment of Raquel López, Port Operations Director Spain, Gibraltar & Portugal, to the Board of Directors of the Barcelona Ship Agents Association (Associació d’Agents Consignataris de Vaixells de Barcelona).

The Association represents over 40 member companies operating within the Port of Barcelona, advocating for their interests at all levels while providing advisory services, training, and industry working groups.

Raquel’s election to the Board presents an opportunity to contribute her expertise to a sector that is constantly evolving and to be part of the conversations shaping its future in such a key port as Barcelona.

Raquel brings over 25 years of experience in the cruise industry, having built her career in port operations with leading cruise port businesses. She joined Intercruises in 2018 and currently oversees all port operations across Spain, Portugal, and Gibraltar. In addition, she is serving in an interim capacity supporting broader European operations. Her role spans service delivery, strategic development, and the management of key stakeholder relationships, including cruise lines, port authorities, and destination partners.

Commenting on the appointment, Raquel López said:

Her appointment further strengthens Intercruises’ contribution to industry bodies globally. It follows the involvement of other company leaders in key associations, including:

Joanne Brown, Commercial Development Manager, who serves on the Board of Management of the Australian Cruise Association.

Kim Donkers, Destination Manager BeNe & Nordics & Global Key Account Manager River Cruises, who serves as Treasurer on the Board of River Cruise Europe.

This appointment reflects Intercruises’ ongoing commitment to active industry engagement and to shaping the future of cruise operations through partnership and dialogue.
