Tarragona will host the MedCruise General Assembly in 2024

On Thursday April 20, in the Roger de Llúria room of the Tarragona Port headquarters, the institutional and business representatives who make up the membership of the Institutional Cruise Board met to analyse the beginning of the 2023 season, as well as the prospects for the rest of the year. The Port is expecting the arrival of 58 cruise ships and 118,000 passengers during the season, which began on April 6 and will end in mid-December, one month later than in 2022. For the Institutional Cruise Board “these statistics, which are close to the best pre- pandemic figures, are a sign of the sector’s recovery, although they are far from the volumes of cruise programmes participated in by other Mediterranean ports”.

The Committee also discussed issues related to the organisation of the MedCruise Assembly to be held in Tarragona in May 2024. The institutions and companies represented in this consensus space confirmed their commitment to host this meeting, which will bring together more than 200 sector agents from all over the Mediterranean to share experiences, best practices and future perspectives. The MedCruise Assembly is an excellent platform for introducing the tourist destination of Tarragona and the Costa Daurada to cruise companies, travel agencies and other actors in this tourism sector.
