Top rankings in accessibility, beauty and security earn Valletta Cruise Port international recognition at FITUR
Valletta Cruise Port has once again been recognised on the global stage, receiving the Best Global Port of Call award for the fourth consecutive year at the Cruceroadicto Awards. The prestigious accolade was presented during FITUR, held this January in Madrid, Spain. Deputy General Manager and Head of Operations and Projects, Mark Cauchi Garzia represented Valletta Cruise Port during the event.
Now in its fourth edition, the Cruceroadicto Awards are based on the results of an international cruise satisfaction survey conducted among Spanish-speaking travellers. Participants were invited to share their favourite cruise lines, ships and port destinations from the previous year, along with the reasons behind their choices.
Valletta Cruise Port achieved particularly high rankings in key areas including accessibility, natural beauty, and overall feeling of security—factors that continue to resonate strongly with cruise passengers.
This latest recognition further reinforces Valletta’s status as a leading port of call in the global cruise industry and underscores its growing appeal as a must-visit Mediterranean destination. The award reflects the ongoing commitment of Valletta Cruise Port and its stakeholders to delivering a high-quality, welcoming and memorable experience for cruise visitors from around the world.
“Receiving this award for the fourth consecutive year is an exceptional honour and a clear reflection of the appreciation shown by cruise passengers. It is a testament to the continuous efforts of all stakeholders including our team to provide a safe, accessible and memorable experience, while showcasing the unique beauty and cultural heritage of Valletta and Malta,” commented Stephen Xuereb, COO of Global Ports Holding and CEO of Valletta Cruise Port.
