Viking Saturn, Celebrity Beyond and Explorer of the Seas maiden voyages to Dubrovnik

On Friday 28 April 2023, the newest Viking Cruises vessel, Viking Saturn,  arrived to Dubrovnik Port directly from the Fincantieri shipyard in Ancona, Italy.  Viking Saturn is the ninth in a series of ten identical ocean cruise vessels built by Fincantieri for Viking Cruises in 2023. Like the sisterships in Viking Cruises series, Viking Saturn has a length of 227 m, 47842 GT, max passenger capacity 930 and 465 crew members. There are 44 Viking Cruises calls scheduled at Dubrovnik Port in 2023, including calls of six sisterships Viking Sea, Viking Sky, Viking Star, Viking Jupiter, Viking Neptune and Viking Venus.

On Tuesday 9 May 2023, Celebrity Beyondthe third in the Edge-class of Celebrity Cruises fleet, arrived to Dubrovnik Port. The ship was constructed at the French shipyard Chantiers de l’Atlantique and entered service in April 2022. She is 326 metres in length, 141420 GT and accommodates 3260 passengers and 1416 crew members. Nine calls of Celebrity Beyond to Dubrovnik are scheduled in the period from 9 May until 24 October 2023.

On Thursay 11 May 2023, Explorer of the Seas, a Voyager-class cruise ship owned and operated by Royal Caribbean International, arrived to Dubrovnik Port. The ship was constructed at the Kvaerner Masa-Yards shipyard in Finland in 1999. With its 138194 GT, the cruise ship measures 311 metres in length, accommodating 3114 passengers and 1180 crew members. Explorer of the Seas will visit Dubrovnik eleven times this year in the period from 11 May until 25 October 2023.

The cruise ships were welcomed by the representatives of Dubrovnik Port Authority, City of Dubrovnik, Dubrovnik Tourist Board and Jadroagent Port Agency, who exchanged plaques with the captains, wishing all passengers and crew a warm welcome to Dubrovnik and calm sea on their voyages.
