Main information

MARPOL is a waste management facility spanning over 18,000 m2, capable of processing 165,000 tons annually. It offers 24/7 customized waste collection by sea and land. The facility provides integrated waste management services, including terminals, Marpol services, and disposal of biosanitary and drug waste. It holds certifications for material destruction and confidential information disposal, and also produces marine fuel (IFO 380). MARPOL handles various waste types such as hydrocarbons, industrial wastewater, stabilization, inerting, non-hazardous waste, and hazardous waste. It has a logistics network with barges, multifit trucks, tanker trucks, and customized containers/bins. The facility is ISO 9001, Environmental Management 14001, OHSAS 18001, and Efficiency Network certified.

History

With over 50 years of experience, we strive for excellence by prioritizing client relationships and ensuring fast responsiveness. Our journey began in 1960 when Francisco Sánchez founded the pipeline, excavation, and demolition business, marking the start of our expansion. In 1980, we secured our first waste management contract, emphasizing flexibility. Throughout the years, we diversified our services, expanded geographically, and developed new divisions. In 2015, we focused on global waste management and specialized in Material Specialization, Zero Waste, and Circular Economy. Notably, in 2017, we invested over 15M€ in a state-of-the-art facility in the Port of Barcelona for industrial waste management. These efforts have positioned us as technological leaders in the sector.
