President Beatriz Calzada and Managing Director Francisco Trujillo hold meetings with Brazilian companies and institutions to promote new business opportunities
The goal is to attract investment and position the Port of Las Palmas as a logistics hub for Brazilian companies expanding into Europe and Africa
The President of the Las Palmas Port Authority, Beatriz Calzada, and its Managing Director, Francisco Trujillo, have once again travelled to Brazil to carry out a series of meetings with companies and institutions in the country aimed at strengthening trade relations and exploring new business opportunities.
During the visit, the delegation from Las Palmas held meetings with Apex-Brasil, the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency; Abex Brasil, the Brazilian Peanut Association; the Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Brazil; FIESC, the Federation of Industries of the State of Santa Catarina; as well as several private companies including Banco Santander, Topema and Shenzen, among others.

This trade mission follows the strong interest shown by several Brazilian business leaders after the commercial visit carried out by Calzada and Trujillo in September 2024.
On this occasion, the delegation from the Port of Las Palmas presented the port’s competitive advantages and analysed potential areas of collaboration with Brazil’s business community. The objective of these meetings is to encourage Brazilian companies to establish operations at the Port of Las Palmas or to use its facilities as a strategic logistics hub for expanding their operations into Europe and Africa.
The President of the Las Palmas Port Authority, Beatriz Calzada, highlighted that “Brazil represents a market of great interest for the Port of Las Palmas due to its economic weight and its potential to generate new commercial and logistics synergies. This is the second time we have visited the country because we know there are real opportunities to do business and for Brazilian companies to establish themselves in our port.”
She added: “Some companies have already shown interest in the Port of Las Palmas. Our goal is to continue strengthening ties with the Brazilian business community and to showcase the opportunities our port offers as a platform connecting the Americas, Europe and Africa.”
Calzada also emphasized the port’s key strengths: “The Port of Las Palmas benefits from a privileged geostrategic location in the mid-Atlantic, strong maritime connectivity and a well-established range of port services that make it a leading logistics node in the region. In addition, we offer legal certainty and tax incentives that make us highly attractive for businesses.”
This initiative forms part of the international outreach strategy promoted by the Las Palmas Port Authority to attract new investment, generate economic activity and further consolidate the port’s position as a global logistics platform.
