Port of Rijeka Authority City of Rijeka and Rijeka Tourism Offices are working closely to establish the city the port and surrounding area as an important cultural historical and leisure destination for cruise tourism.

Located ideally in the northern Adriatic the City of Rijeka offers robust history a walkable waterfront interesting architecture art galleries great wine food ambience culture and shopping.

It’s close to the photogenic coastal town of Istria and charming Opatija the Pearl of the Adriatic as well as abundant nature sites including breathtaking Krk Island known for olive oil wine and honey and scenic Plitvice Lakes National Park a UNESCO World Heritage Site with lakes caves and waterfalls. Also Gorski Kotar a green oasis full of lakes national parks hills & mountains that offers lots of wonderful activities for the more adventurous. Rijeka is also the gateway to Zagreb the Croatian capital.

Not only does Rijeka have multiple docking areas for small and mid-sized ships at its maritime passenger terminal but its larger vessels with up to 10.5 m draft can now dock at the Container port. Both terminals being only a few hundred meters’ walk from the historic center! Very importantly Rijeka is also a major luxury new yacht destination hosting a beautiful marina in the centre of the city and exceptional facilities.
