The Port of Roses on the Costa Brava anticipates seven cruise calls and 2,700 passengers this season. One characteristic of this year is that all the cruise ships are high-end. The arrival of this type of cruise ship means that tourists with higher purchasing power will visit the area. Thus, visitors will be discovering unique and distinctive experiences in the region through cultural and food and wine activities.
Cruise ship activity in the port of Roses will last six months this year, from May to October. The season starts this May 10 and is expected to end the October 20.
A 70% of the cruise ships will visit during the low season, which will help to spread tourism throughout the year in the Alt Empordà region and the Costa Brava, thereby boosting employment and the economy in the municipality of Roses and its hinterland.
This season, six cruise companies will visit Roses: Azamara, Club Med, Crystal Cruises, Sea Cloud Cruises, Seadream Yacht Club and Windstar Cruises. The port will also welcome the inaugural call from the cruise ship Azamara Onward.

Costa Brava Cruise Ports
Costa Brava Cruise Ports comes from the collaboration between different public entities who signed a 2012 agreement between Ports de la Generalitat, The Costa Brava Girona Tourism Board, the Chambers of Commerce of Girona and Palamós and the town halls of Roses and Palamós. This alliance between port authorities, local governments and the destinations simplifies communication with the cruise ship companies as well as with the travellers since it centralizes the information and speeds up the procedures. From the organization we work with all the key players to boost cruise tourism in the destination. Costa Brava Cruise Ports is a member of the Association of Mediterranean Cruise Ports (MedCruise) and the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), the two most important associations in the world within the cruise industry.
