The cruises Scenic Eclipse I and Scenic Eclipse II will dock at the Delicias quay this Saturday and spend one night in Seville.
This unprecedented operation at the Port of Seville highlights its capacity to host luxury expedition cruises and promote high-value tourism.
The Port of Seville is hosting, for the first time in its history, the simultaneous call of two twin luxury cruises operated by Scenic: Scenic Eclipse I and Scenic Eclipse II. These expedition cruises successfully completed docking operations today, Saturday, May 9, alongside the Cruise Terminal, which since early 2026 has been managed by Global Ports — the world’s largest cruise port operator — and Ocean Platform Marina (OPM), one of Spain’s leading managers of large-yacht marinas.
Both cruises arrived from Tangier (Morocco), will spend one night in Seville, and are scheduled to depart on Sunday, May 10, for different destinations: Scenic Eclipse I will sail to Portimão (Portugal), while Scenic Eclipse II will head to Marbella.
Around 350 passengers are travelling onboard, including 187 aboard Eclipse I and 154 aboard Eclipse II, with the majority coming from Australia, the United States, and Canada. In addition, these luxury cruises bring approximately 360 crew members.
“We are very pleased that Scenic has chosen Seville,” said Rafael Carmona, President of the Port Authority of Seville (APS). “Today, the Delicias quay offers a unique image with the simultaneous docking of these twin cruises, confirming the cruise line’s confidence in the destination and in the cruise tourism model we offer.”
“A model,” the president continued, “based on personalised attention to both the cruise and its passengers, offering them a distinctive experience of the city while enabling docking in the very heart of Seville, just a few metres from UNESCO World Heritage monuments.”
To mark this double call, “the Port of Seville wanted to offer cruise passengers a welcome to the city featuring an equestrian performance, as a prelude to the visits and experiences they will enjoy over the coming hours,” the president announced during the official welcoming ceremony for Scenic Eclipse I and II.
This event represents one of the milestones of the 2026 cruise season, which is expected to include nearly 90 scheduled calls throughout the year.
Also attending the event were Angie Moreno, Seville City Council’s Delegate for Tourism and Culture, along with representatives from the Port Authority of Seville and Global Ports and OPM.
Commitment to the Seville Destination
Scenic’s relationship with the Port of Seville began in April 2022 with the inaugural call of Scenic Eclipse I. Scenic Eclipse II made its first visit one year later, in April 2023. Since then, the Australian company has called at Seville’s docks on seven occasions, maintaining its annual appointment with the city without interruption.
“The commitment to boutique and luxury cruises reflects a sustainable, high-quality tourism offering integrated into the urban environment and focused on providing cruise passengers with a unique experience, not only of Seville’s attractions but also of sailing along the Guadalquivir estuary,” said the president of the Port Authority.
In line with this strategy, the Port Authority of Seville, together with Global Ports and OPM, and in collaboration with Seville City Council, the Regional Government of Andalusia, the Suncruise Association, and Puertos del Estado, continues to strengthen its presence at major international cruise industry events, such as the latest edition of Seatrade Global held in Miami this past April.
The APS aims to position the Port of Seville as an ideal destination for high-end cruises, yachts, and megayachts, supported by the natural environment of the Guadalquivir estuary and an exclusive proposal combining navigation, heritage, culture, and gastronomy.
